The Good Shepherd

Sheep are always in need of a shepherd.  They are docile and timid creatures, and if left unattended, they become vulnerable to prey.   Sheep also have a tendency to stray.  Once isolated and lost, they become anxious and fearful.  They prefer to live within groups, and easily follow the lead of other sheep.

It is not coincidental that Jesus refers to His followers as sheep and Himself as a shepherd.  …
