Week 7, Part 4 – Spread the Word
A Christ Community Message
Lord, what shakes my confidence in You?
1 John 5:14-15
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
Lord, we ask for many things of You and from You, but how often do we ask for things that are aligned with Your will? Sometimes our eyes and our hearts desire things for ourselves and others that are not the best for us. We may not be able to trust in many things, but we can confidently trust that You are good all of the time and that Your plans are always good for us.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
One thing is for sure, because of our salvation through Jesus Christ, with all certainty, we can approach God and be assured of His grace and mercy every time. He promises to supply us with grace whenever we need it. This is definitely a time of need, and that need grows deeper and deeper each day.
Lord, may we grow desperately dependent on You as we cling to You to provide for our every need. May we seek You knowing that You have the solution to every problem, and that You will provide us with Your strategies to overcome all that threatens our confidence and security.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Lord Jesus, may we stand firmly planted in Your promises of truth as we bear fruit for the glory of Your Name, for with You we shall not be shaken. You are our Jehovah Shalom, our peace and assurance.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
So let us pray! May we pray with confidence to make our requests known to God, and may we rest in His perfect will as He guards our hearts and our minds through Jesus Christ with His peace.
